Spirituele begeleiding

Spirituele begeleiding is ’n gespreksmetode wat deur die eeue in die Christelike kerk ontwikkel het. Dit was altyd meer bekend in die Rooms-Katolieke en Anglikaanse tradisie, maar in baie Protestantse kerke het dit die laaste jare ’n waardevolle rol begin speel.

Die doel is die bevordering van jou eie geestelike reis. Gewoonlik is dit van groot waarde hiervoor. Dit gaan oor hoe jy jou verhouding met die Here ervaar en oor wat die Here aan die doen is in jou lewe en persoonlikheid. Dws die werkwyse is psigo-spiritueel in die sin dat jy en jou begeleier ook na jou persoonlike ontwikkeling kyk as deel van jou spirituele ontwikkeling. Hoofsaaklik loop die begeleier nie voor jou uit nie, maar agter jou aan om jou te help sien en ervaar.

Wat gewoonlik goed werk, is om mekaar eers so viermaal vir ongeveer ’n uur te sien, min of meer twee weke uit mekaar, en dan evalueer die twee of hulle vir sowat ’n jaar wil aangaan op maandelikse basis. Daarna kan dit maandeliks of met ’n laer frekwensie voortgaan, of die proses kan vireers afgesluit word. Sommige begeleiers vra ’n donasie en ander ’n fooi van ongeveer R200 per sessie.

Sedert die begin van 2004 is daar begin met tweejaar-kursusse om geskikte persone op te lei in hierdie metode. Sr. Mary Fisher, ’n Franciskaanse non, en dr. Willem Nicol, ’n NG-predikant, is die aanbieders.

Dr. Anneke Lamont is ‘n musikus wat veral bekend is as kollaboratiewe pianis. Sy het ’n PhD in uitvoerende kuns. Anneke is ook opgelei as ’n Imago-terapeut. Sy is die musiekdirekteur in die NG Gemeente Stellastraat waarby die “Adoramus” diens ingesluit is. Sy fokus op die integrering van die psigo-spirituele met die skeppende en kreatiewe fasette van  die persoon.   Arnold Lamont is a teacher by vocation and has worked for about 20 years at boys’ schools in the country.  In this environment, the foundation for his involvement with young people and their spiritual journeys, was laid.  He is trained as a relationship therapist (Imago discipline) and currently works from home providing distance education over the internet.  He has been involved in presentation of camps and retreats for a considerable time.  ‘God as Inviter and Beckoner in our everyday lives’ forms a ‘north star’ to him in his outlook on life.  He is an introvert who reads a lot and enjoys contemplating the ordinary things in life.   Tel : 012 3433339 or 082 563 9919


Mev. Cecilia Botha bied ’n kombinasie van psigoterapie en spirituele begeleiding. Hierdie uitdagende kombinasie werk met intensiteit en fokus op die spirituele en psigologiese faktore wat ons beïnvloed. Die Enneagram speel ’n belangrike rol in die werkmetode.  Past. Neels van der Bergh is the leader of Pastoral Care Ministries at the Mosaïek Church in Fairland, Johannesburg. Neels has many years of experience in ministries and was also responsible for human resources in a private health care company prior to being in full-time ministry. Sr. Mary Fisher, Franciscan nun, has been primarily involved in a spiritual apostolate since 1982 when she completed post-graduate studies in spirituality. Her apostolate in this varied field has taken her to several countries within the continent of Africa as well as outside. Although an American by birth Mary has lived in Africa for 35 years. She is presently in her sixth year in South Africa. Nicolin Hoffmann is a mother of 3 and has been happily married to Albert for 31 years.  Nicolin holds a M.Sc degree in Creativity, Creative Problem Solving and Change Leadership from the State University of New York, USA. She has been leading seminars  and workshops in South Africa and abroad on Creative Thinking and Creative Spirituality for the past 18 years. Nicolin has a passion for the field of Christian Spirituality and is a trained Spiritual Director (Center for Contextual Ministry, UP) and a Christian Life Purpose Coach® (LPCCI, California, USA).  She believes in the importance of creating quiet space in your life in order to grow as a person and to live closer to God’s will and purpose for your life. Nicolin has lead spiritual retreats for groups in South Africa and in the United States.  The most important things in life for Nicolin aren’t ‘things’ at all. Dr. Willem Nicol served as minister of the Dutch Reformed Church for 33 years. In 2006 he retired to become a free lance minister focusing on contemplative spirituality. He holds doctorates in New Testament Science as well as in Systematic Theology. He writes and leads courses in the area of contemplative spirituality during the last 25 years. Dr. Marina Strydom is ‘n predikant by die Ooskerk. Twee van haar groot passies is spiritualiteitsontwikkeling en die gebruik van kuns as geloofsdissipline en spirituele uitdrukkingsvorm.
