Dear Friends

I’m enclosing the programme, Heartfulness programme, for next year below. It’s a new programme from Contemplative Outreach USA called the Heartfulness Program. It’s a series of reflections given by Fr Thomas Keating on the spiritual journey. It invites us to a period of inner growth, renewing and deepening our relationship with God, with ourselves and with others. The programme is made up of nine segments which could be likened to the salvation cycle of our lives. The mini workshops are every 4^th Saturday of the month from 8 – 11am at Glen Methodist Church. Although participants can come in at any time, the best possible effect will be if you commit yourself to coming to each mini workshop. Included in the programme are the three retreats. So please diarise the dates in your new diaries!

 Every third Sunday of the month is Centering Prayer day at Sediba It starts off with Mass at 9am and then Centering Prayer with meditative walks after each 25 minutes of CP – this enables the visitor to stay as long as they wish. Bring-and-share lunch. Donations welcomed. Check the website at www.sedibamountainretreat.co.za.

 HEARTFULNESS PROGRAMME 2012

Mini Workshops on the Heartfulness Programme held at Glen Methodist Church, Keeshond St, Garsfontein, every 4^th Saturday of the month (except for the retreat months) from 8 – 11am. These workshops help to deepen our understanding of the contemplative dimension of the Gospel and its extraordinary implications and applications for personal freedom and global peace. Please diarise these dates as there is a continuity in the sessions. Each session starts with a short DVD featuring Fr Thomas Keating, followed by prayer, reflection and sharing.

There will be a day retreat on 17^th March, which starts at 9am and ends at 3pm (venue: 60 Cornelius St, Kilner park). There will be a three-day retreat (probably at Sediba Mountain Retreat) in December.
